County Performing Arts Center From the Center performing artists Sandii
Castleberry & Gary Francisco celebrate their 4th year on the From the
Center roster. Portraying Johnny Appleseed and Sister Sally, Gary & Sandii
expertly
demonstrate the beginnings of
American folk music, from sources in the Appalachian Mountains through travels across The
Western Plains. All ages will enjoy this
toe-tapping performance that includes performance on banjo, fiddle, guitar, washtub bass,
spoons, etc. Some audience members take the
stage at the end of the performance in a frontier band hoe-down. For more information about the OCPAC From the

Besides schools, MBIA has performed at Tustin's Tiller Days, Children's concerts for the

"The Celtic Connection:
A Musical Journey Back to Ireland and Scotland"
Did you know that bagpipes come from other places
besides Ireland & Scotland? And, the words to "Danny
Boy" were not even written by an Irishman! These are just some
of the interesting and exciting facts that audiences will learn from The
Celtic Connection, a fun, and informative musical review that includes
performance on Irish whistles, bagpipes, the ancient Irish drum (Bodhran),
guitar, banjo-mandolin, fiddle, bones and spoons. Try your hand at the art
of ancient Irish drumming, or clap along to the exciting rhythms of an
Irish jig or reel. This program truly is a multicultural musical
feast that your school or community event must have. Perfect for
multicultural events any time of the year, family nights, city &
library concerts, and folk festivals.
Joining Sandii and Gary is Richard Cook, who plays 4 types of bagpipes, Irish whistle and
bohdran drum!

Through
music and colorful props, costumed performers tell the stories behind
America’s patriotic songs and symbols. Schools and libraries often book
us, as well as cities and corporate functions looking for an act to
celebrate one of America’s many patriotic holidays.
The
Roots of American Music
Travel
back to simpler times and enjoy a show of early folk music played on an
array of instruments. Wearing authentic costuming from mid 19th
Century America, the performers expertly integrate U.S. history with the
history of American folk music. A popular school assembly program for all
ages.
Singing The Way To Reading With Aunt Sandii
Sandii
integrates children’s literature with popular children’s folk songs in a
highly participative program that can be geared from preschool through 6th
grade. Also can be geared to fit multiple themes such as: animals,
heroes, patriotic, Halloween, spring, Christmas, etc. A “must have”
library show and other and at other events promoting literacy.
Solo, Duo, Trio Performances
Sandiis mellow vocals and guitar will add enjoyable ambiance to
your next event. She can play over 500 tunes ranging from jazz
standards to 80s 90s soft pop. To liven things up, Sandii
can add a diverse violin player, guitarist, or bass player for an outstanding up-beat
ensemble playing jazz standards, classic rock, swing, and blues to
bluegrass. Great for restaurants, special parties, and corporate events.
Castleberry
Creek
Classic
country, country rock, country swing, folk and bluegrass performed on
guitar, mandolin, fiddle, banjo, etc. This 2-6 piece band has the option to
be booked as acoustic strolling entertainment. Great for family themed
events, country clubs, hoe-downs, RV parks, western-themed barbecues,
Americana themed events, concerts in the park, and acoustic music
festivals. We can also interact musically with your audience with a variety
of “user friendly” instruments such as: spoons, washboard, etc.
Holiday Entertainment

Donned in western-themed holiday wear,
musicians sing and perform favorite holiday songs on country and bluegrass
instruments. A great alternative to Dickens Carolers! A very popular
corporate group for holiday parties. Also available as a children’s
45-minute show celebrating music and traditions from many cultures.
Participative and interactive, and available as a 1-4 piece ensemble
Uncle Ron & Aunt Sandii
Fun, Americana folk and childrens songs are performed by
seasoned performers Sandii
Castleberry & Ron Daigh. The husband-wife
duo have been performing together for the past 14 years, and involve their young audiences
by inviting them to join them on a variety of percussion instruments provided by the
musicians. Children will also enjoy dancing the Hokey Pokey as well as
participating in the Freeze Frame dancing contest, and the corn shucking
contest.
Sandii's experience as an elementary school teacher and an assembly
music artist adds to the success of this show.

Whitwood Mall-Whittier, Inland Center-San Bernardino, UCI University Town
